About the concert

David Fraypiano

“Chopin’s music is very fragile … somewhat intangible,” says the pianist David Fray, whose latest album is devoted to the “poet of the piano”, and a critic has given him the same nickname for the sensitivity of his interpretations. An exclusive Erato/Warner Classics artist, he won the Gramophone Editor’s Choice for his recording of the music of Franz Schubert, and his album with works by Bach and Boulez was awarded as the best recording of the year. After his Berlin recital, the critic for the German newspaper Tagesspiegel wrote: “Nothing makes the impression of being prepared in advance; each repetition appears in a new light. Even after four encores, the audience did not want to leave the concert hall.”
