Firkušný 2021: A festival of debuts and returns

The Prague Spring presents the programme for the 9th edition of the Rudolf Firkušný Piano Festival, which will take place from 30 October to 9 November 2021 and offers five concerts given by superb pianists. “This year’s edition is all about debuts and returns,” says festival director Roman Bělor. “It seems almost incredible that the concert by Igor Levit will be the first ever performance this internationally celebrated musician has given in this country, and it will be only the second appearance for Arcadi Volodos in front of a Czech audience,” Bělor adds. The festival is also pleased to welcome the legendary Portuguese pianist Maria João Pires and French pianist David Fray, while the domestic music scene will be represented by Lukáš Vondráček. All the concerts will be held in the Dvořák Hall in Prague’s Rudolfinum; tickets are now on sale, available via this website.
