After the concert there will be a meeting with Chloe Jiyeong Mun and Sir András Schiff in Martinů Hall

A recital programme is like a business card – you show musically who you are, what currently captures your curiosity, what supra-musical ideas are important to you, states Sir András Schiff, the world-famous pianist who will open this year’s edition of the Rudolf Firkušný Piano Festival. He is also the founder and mentor of the programme Building Bridges, through which, each year, he helps three young, talented pianists at the start of their professional careers. I ask all music lovers to listen with open hearts and open ears, and I wish everyone involved much joy in discovering these young talents,” he adds. Thus, András Schiff will be arriving in Prague accompanied by South Korean pianist Chloe Jiyeong Mun, winner of the prestigious international competition in Geneva and the Busoni competition in Italy, who delighted audiences in London’s Wigmore Hall and the Leipzig Gewandhaus and also those who heard her debut album for the respected Deutsche Grammophon label. She will appear before the festival public in a programme combining the poetic music of Fryderyk Chopin and Claude Debussy with the sonatas of Viennese classics Joseph Haydn and Franz Schubert. The concert will be followed by a discussion with the young artist and her renowned mentor.
