He makes you listen to music as if you are discovering it Eureka!style: yes, that’s what the composer must have meant,  wrote the daily Financial Times, describing the musical artistry of French pianist Jean-Efflam Bavouzet. One of the finest performers of French music, Bavouzet works with such ensembles as the Cleveland Orchestra, the San Francisco Symphony, BBC Symphony and the London Philharmonic. He has won prestigious awards from Gramophone, BBC Music Magazine and Diapason d’Or for his recordings of Maurice Ravel and Claude Debussy, released on the British label Chandos. Bavouzet currently holds a three-year residency at London’s Wigmore Hall where, both in solo recital and as a chamber player, he focuses on the works of Claude Debussy. The closing concert of this year’s Rudolf Firkušný Piano Festival will be Bavouzet’s first ever recital in the Czech Republic. He will combine music by founder of musical Impressionism Claude Debussy with the popular Kinderszenen by Robert Schumann, also adding a sample of the piano oeuvre of Karlheinz Stockhausen, a leading figure of the post-war avantgarde
